Dr Marco Snoek Amsterdam University of Applied Science
Marco has been a lecturer in Learning and Innovation at the Hogeschool Van Amsterdam since 2003. Within this professorship, he occupies himself with the professionalism and leadership of teachers and teacher educators. This, together with a varying group of researchers, shapes it through research projects, contributes to the development and implementation of (Master) courses, support for schools, advice in the field of teacher policy, presentations and writing articles and books.
Professor Ian Menter Emeritus Professor of Teacher Education, University of Oxford
Before moving to Oxford, where he was Director of Professional Programmes from 2012- 2015, Ian was Professor of Teacher Education at the University of Glasgow. Prior to that he held posts at the University of West Scotland (Dean of Education and Media), London Metropolitan University (Head of School of Education), University of the West of England and the University of Gloucestershire.
Ian was President of the Scottish Educational Research Association from 2005-07 and chaired the Research and Development Committee of the Universities Council for the Education of Teachers from 2008-11. From 2013-15 he was President of the British Educational Research Association.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a visiting Professor at Bath Spa University and Ulster University, an Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter and a Senior Research Associate at Kazan Federal University in Russia.
Professor Irma Eloff University of Pretoria
Irma is the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria. Irma is an NRF-rated researcher, a registered psychologist and she has received several awards for her research in Education and Educational Psychology. She has been a visiting associate professor at Yale University during 2001-2002 and she has lectured across the globe on themes of positive psychology, early intervention, inclusive education and HIV & AIDS. Irma has published more than 55 academic articles and book chapters and 45 master’s and doctoral students have completed their studies under her supervision. She has also co-authored the book, Life Skills & Assets and she is also co-editor of the book Keys to Educational Psychology.
